Centric HR are proud to announce we have facilitated our first Kickstarter for a company in Rugeley. The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.
Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months. The funding also covers associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. Employers can spread the start date of the job placements up until the end of December 2021 and it is designed to help create thousands of new, fully funded jobs across England, Scotland and Wales with further funding available for training and support so that young people on the scheme can get a job in the future.
Abigail King is the Kickstarter who has found work experience with our client Great British Expos. Abigail is 18 years old and has just recently finished a 2 year college course in which she has successfully achieved a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, issued by University of the Arts London. Alison has a huge passion for anything creative, including photography and writing and we can’t wait to see what she brings to our client.
Great British Expo’s Ltd are based in Rugeley and have been organising business events for the last 10 years, with a strong track record of producing well managed and well attended expos across the UK. Their family of exhibitions have been developed year on year to the highest possible standard and are now each known as the leading business exhibition within their respective region. They have thus gained the reputation within the industry as the UK’s leading provider of regional business shows.
Great British Expos one day events are aimed at businesses whose primary agenda is to improve and expand their business, develop key relationships through networking with other regional business leaders and increase their skill set through our free industry leading seminars / practical workshops. They also offer, in addition to the expo events, bespoke training days across the UK that are designed to equip and educate business leaders in the key area’s that they need to help develop and expand their current business.
“I have already met a wonderful bunch of people, who I know I can learn a lot from, and are always available to offer help and advice. I doubt I would have received this opportunity to learn these useful new skills, without ‘The Great British Expos’ taking me on as part of the Kickstart Scheme. Over the coming months, I will be learning from expert speakers during virtual conferences, gaining valuable contacts in business and media, and learning the practical skills involved in digital marketing. The experience that I will obtain is going to be invaluable to my future career path,” said Abigail King, Kickstarter.
“The Kickstart Scheme is a fantastic opportunity and the first step to support young people into sustainable employment. We wish Abigail all the best in her new role.” said Carol Hemming, Department of Works and Pensions, Staffordshire.
“As an ambassador of young people we are delighted to be able to support our client Great British Expos with our first Kickstarter! We will be here to support both our client and Abigail to make sure she has all of the employability training and support to help build her confidence and gain substantive employment for the future,” added, Sandra Berns, Director, Centric HR.
