Shirley Hawkins is an experienced HR professional who has spent significant time working in corporate companies within manufacturing, engineering, distribution and later moved into working for herself within medium sized companies and occasional charities.
Often described as being able to partner with you to create strategic solutions that work for your business, but being practical enough to be able to carry them through. Shirley’s is well adept in the field of Employee Relations, including redundancy/ closures and change, often dealing with employee representatives and trade unions.
Also Shirley’s experience includes designing and managing focussed recruitment campaigns with a variety of methods, personality profiling, and planning and designing/running assessment centres if required. She has worked in Europe at one point, delivering and creating training initiatives for continental sales and technical professionals – mostly triggered by a talent management exercise.
Shirley also trained to be an advanced coach and mentor and has used this when volunteering for the Princes Trust as a mentor for young people and recently for an NHS project to support during the pandemic.
Finally, she is also a director for a small community Venture as well as the local RSPCA and has joined a housing board, and enjoys contributing at the top table in this way.
